AN EMERGING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CIRCULATING ESTRADIOL AND THYROID AUTOIMMUNITY IN POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME

Objectives: To find an association between circulating oestradiol and thyroid autoimmunity in females with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) its impact on their health. Materials Methods: This study was conducted at Aziz Fatimah Medical Dental College, after obtaining ethical approval from Institutional Ethical Committee (letter No. DME/568-19) April to September 2017. Hundred PCOS enrolled the age range 17-35 years were taken who fulfilled inclusion exclusion criteria. Blood samples drawn stored Fatima Hospital, Faisalabad. All blood analyzed for levels of Oestradiol, stimulating hormone (TSH), free triiodothyronine (FT3), tetra-iodothyronine (FT4), peroxidase antibody (TPO-Ab). The data using SPSS 23. Results: Of total population, TPO-Ab positive 26% participants. It observed that 64% 40% subjects quartiles E3 E4 respectively none them found be E1 E2 quartiles. We have a significant TSH, FT4, TPO-Ab, however, no correlation TSH TPO-Ab. Beta coefficient (?) 1.006 shows higher significantly related titer p-value = 0.002. Similarly, but weak TSH. negatively associated FT4. Conclusion: Oestradiol is positively TPO antibodies FT4 patients. Our findings suggest commonly females. Keywords: Polycystic syndrome, Thyroid
